I’ve been wanting to write about Richmond forever! It’s one of my favourite neighbourhoods in London and I’ve got the perfect excuse to write about it now (did I need one?!). Ted Lasso filming locations anyone?!

Ted Lasso’s back with its trademark wholesomeness and, if you’ve watched it and spent half the time trying to work out whether Richmond is a real place, it is. And you can visit almost every location the show used. The pub is real (I’ve had a pre-cinema pint there!). The green is real (had many picnics on it). The stadium is real, it just plays for a different team on matchdays.

This is for anyone planning a London trip around the show, whether that’s a full Ted Lasso day out or just a couple of stops added onto a normal visit to Richmond. Below are all the Ted Lasso filming locations, what they’re called in real life and how to actually get there so you can plan your own tour.

Ted’s Local Pub: The Prince’s Head

This is probably one of the most iconic Ted Lasso filming locations! The pub in Ted Lasso, shown as the Crown & Anchor, is The Prince’s Head (28 The Green, Richmond, TW9 1LX), a 300-year-old pub sitting right on Richmond Green.

It’s a proper working pub rather than a tourist trap, so go in expecting a normal Sunday roast crowd rather than a queue of fans with cameras. It’s a great pub and gets especially busy in summer when the green across the road gets crowded. I think I’ve only been there once, actually, for a pre-cinema drink.

If you want to stay in the area rather than day-trip it, there are a few hotels within walking distance of the green like the Richmond Hill Hotel (by Terrace Gardens where you’ll find the best sunset view in London between around November to April!).

Richmond Green and Ted’s Flat

Richmond Green itself appears repeatedly through the series as Ted’s neighbourhood (the pub is right there). Ted’s flat, on the the show, is set at 9½ Paved Court, just off the green, a few minutes’ walk from the pub. However, the real life door filmed is 11 Paved Court.

Paved Court is a short row of independent shops and cafes rather than a residential street people can wander into, so this one’s really a case of standing outside and taking the photo rather than a proper stop. Worth pairing with a coffee at one of the cafes along the row.

Rebecca and Nate’s Homes

Rebecca’s house is at 1 Pembroke Villas in Richmond. It’s a private residence, so this one’s exterior-only: take the photo from the street and don’t linger.

Nate’s family home appears on Portland Terrace, also in Richmond, and it’s the same deal: a real house that people live in, not a set open to visitors.

Twickenham: The Rowing Club and the Dolls Shop

A short trip over from Richmond, Twickenham Rowing Club on Eel Pie Island is where the bench scene with Phoebe, Roy and Keeley was filmed in series two. Eel Pie Island itself is worth the detour regardless of the show. It’s a unique little pocket of London, all houseboats and artist studios and most visitors to Richmond never make it across.

On Church Street in Twickenham, Mojo Boutique doubles as “Dolls of England” in the show. It’s a working shop rather than a film set, so treat it as a browse rather than a photo stop.

Where AFC Richmond Actually Plays: Selhurst Park

The stadium exteriors for AFC Richmond were filmed at Selhurst Park, home ground of Crystal Palace FC in south London. I went there once to see Botafogo v Crystal Palace with my partner.

If you want the closest thing to standing where AFC Richmond “play,” a Crystal Palace match day ticket is the way to do it rather than trying to view the stadium from outside, which is fairly unremarkable on a non-match day.

There’s a really famous bakery in Crystal Palace called Chatsworth Bakehouse that’s got incredible pastries and sandwiches. Stop by if you make it to the neighbourhood! (although when going to the match, the best station to get off at is Norwood Junction which is a 12min walk away. There’s a really great coffee and cake place by it too! I just can’t find the name to save my life atm… Crystal Palace station is actually a 42min walk from the stadium!).

Central London: Tower Bridge and the Rivoli Ballroom

Ted’s arrival into London in episode one was filmed at Tower Bridge, which needs no introduction and is worth folding into a wider day in that part of London rather than visiting purely for the show.

Further out in Brockley, the Rivoli Ballroom served as the benefit gala venue, with its untouched 1950s interior doing a lot of the work on screen. It’s a working events venue rather than something you can drop into casually, so check what’s on before making the trip out.

Where the Cast Actually Eats in Richmond

A few of Richmond’s real restaurants and cafes double as show locations and, unlike the private houses, most of these are places you can still walk in and order something.

Gaucho, Richmond is where the season two double date between Keeley and Roy and Rebecca and her date John, was filmed, both inside and out.

Tapas Brindisa, Richmond stood in for Jade and Nate’s first date spot.

Oli & Ben, Richmond is where Keeley meets up with Jack in the show. It’s sadly closed down, so this one’s a spot-the-location moment rather than somewhere you can actually stop for a coffee. A real shame, they had Brazilian cheese bread!

Sam’s Restaurant: The Real Daquise in South Kensington

Sam’s restaurant Ola’s, one of the bigger storylines of the show, was filmed at Daquise, a long-running Polish restaurant on Thurloe Street in South Kensington. I’ve walked past it so many times and am dying to go! LOVE pierogis!

It’s a bit of a detour from the Richmond cluster, so it makes more sense paired with a day around the museums in South Kensington than tacked onto the Richmond walk. It’s on the same tube line though!

More Filming Spots Around Notting Hill

Two more locations that don’t fit neatly into Richmond or South Kensington: A Taste of Athens, the fictional Greek restaurant tied to Nate’s storyline in season three, was filmed at Mediterraneo in Notting Hill and Roy’s regular kebab spot was filmed at Embassy Cafe nearby. Both are worth folding into a day that also covers Notting Hill’s more obvious sights.

Planning a Ted Lasso Tour in London

If you want to hit the main Richmond and Twickenham locations in one go, this works well as a loop: start at Richmond station, walk to Richmond Green and The Prince’s Head, cross to Paved Court for Ted’s flat, then head over to Twickenham for the rowing club and Mojo Boutique before looping back. Add Selhurst Park separately if you can time it with a match day. It’s not exactly close enough to Richmond to combine into the same day comfortably.

Richmond itself is worth far more time than the show’s locations alone would suggest. If you’re coming from central London by train, it pairs naturally with a walk through Richmond Park.
