Valentine’s Day is not all about romantic love. If anything, family and friends love is just as important or more! And although celebrating friendships is something we should be doing often, Galentine’s Day in London is an excellent excuse to turn it up a notch. And the capital has endless options for a fun-filled day or evening with your besties!

Some of these are obviously cliché but there’s a reason they are popular!
Afternoon Tea
Indulge in a quintessentially British experience with a Galentine’s twist. Many London hotels and tea rooms offer themed afternoon teas perfect for groups. Sketch in Mayfair is an Insta-worthy choice but here are some other options:
Taylor Swift Afternoon Tea: aboard a double decker so you get to ride around London and take in the scenery while singing at the tops of your lungs and nibbling on some British goodies
The Milestone Afternoon Tea with Champagne: if you and your gang are not so much Swifties and more into enjoying a fancy setting on “dry land”, this is an indulgent choice to elevate your celebrations.

Foodie Faves
- Afternoon Tea at Sketch: Indulge in a whimsical and Instagrammable afternoon tea with your besties in the heart of Mayfair.
- Bottomless Brunch: Check out venues like Daisy Green or Scarlett Green for vibrant brunches with unlimited prosecco.
- Have your own Breakfast at Tiffany’s at Harrods’ The Tiffany Blue Box Cafe
Or how about trying out a new restaurant, new cuisine? Somewhere with the most delicious, indulgent food! I don’t know about you but, for me, one of my favourite things in life is to share food and good chats with friends and family. I don’t mind paying more than usual for really good food but expensive restaurants that are all style and no substance are pointless to me.
Here are some recommendations (some appeared on my V-day recs too!):
- Hawksmoor: for the meat eaters this is a special one. Delicious steak, beef dripping fries, GARLIC MUSHROOMS, delicious wine.
- YORI: another perfect sharer – authentic Korean BBQ where you cook your meat as you wish right at your table. I’ve been to the one in Wimbledon a ton of times but there’s one right in Covent Garden if you need a more central location
- Dishoom: I feel like everyone in town and their grandma’s know about Dishoom but, if you don’t or if you haven’t had a chance to go, it’s the perfect place to share a ton of delicious dishes! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend the house black daal, obviously, but also the murgh malai, butterflied prawns, house chaat and ALL THE GARLIC NAAN. Mushrooms too if they have it! I really love the ambience and the service too. The decor is beautiful, the service is fuss free, the food is all shareable and quick. It’s the perfect mix of casual and chic. They’re everywhere too so location isn’t a problem.
- Grasso: Italian-American in the heart of Soho. It’s comforting, it’s indulgent, it’s carby, it’s wintery and it’s got major NY vibes! What about a pre/post dinner show across the road @ Soho Theatre?!
- Chet’s: Thai-American. Lobster noodles. Pineapple rice. Sticky rice and mango. Need more?
Night Out
Book a karaoke room, go bowling or try an escape room for a more interactive celebration. London has plenty of quirky venues to add laughter and memories to your day.
Or if you’re just looking for a place to let your hair down, sing along and dance the night away with your buddies, here are some parties going on in the city:
- Valentine’s Silent Disco: let’s start with this: it’s at the NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM! Just being in that cool building at night would be so fun, but when there’s a party going, even better. Great for the introverts too as it’s a silent disco
- Girls Night Out + Pop Curious for the East London girlies
- All Night Long Pop, Hip Hop and R&B for something more Central @ Lightbox

Spa Day
Remember cliché? But no one’s ever complained about relaxing! Many places offer group packages, including massages, facials and afternoon tea. Check out the Sofitel Spa or Banya No.1 (around £150 per guest for group bookings) for unique experiences. Check out Spa Days for more budget options.
Mind & Body
- Hot Yoga or Pilates: Book a group class through ClassPass and enjoy a rejuvenating workout together
- Dance Classes: from 80s aerobics to Kpop, RnB and Hip Hop, Pineapple Studios has something for everyone!

Miscellaneous
- Notting Hill Film and Stars Walking Tour: nothing says Galentine’s Day in London more than a rom com tour of iconic Notting Hill. Lots of foodie options for post-walk too like Taqueria on Westbourne Grove!
- Cooking classes: take your pick! Pizza Making Class / French Macaron Workshop / Chocolate Truffle-Making Workshop
- TasteFilm: a Clueless-inspired feast while watching the 90s classic?! Sign me up!
