This is a list of the best pancakes in London.
Are you a Shrove Tuesday enthusiast? I am! I mean…any excuse to eat pancakes! With the date fast approaching, I wanted to come on here to give you some recommendations on where to get your pancake fix this 4 March.
London boasts a vibrant food scene where classic dishes are reimagined and reinvented. Pancakes have become a beloved treat in the city and there is no shortage of places to enjoy them. Whether you prefer a nostalgic, hearty stack or a delicate modern twist this guide highlights the best pancake spots that London has to offer.

So here’s a list of the best pancakes in London – in my personal opinion. (I have to say, I don’t toot my own horn very often, but I AM usually very good at recommending food spots if that makes you feel better!)
So let’s start from the top!
Sunday in Brooklyn
I went to their original location on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill but they recently opened another in Marylebone. Of course, neighbourhoods that can afford £14.50 pancakes. Did I tell you it’s a single? Yep, that’s it for ONE pancake, £17.50 for a double or £21 for a triple.
But why would you pay so much for a pancake, Liv? Because it really was the best one I’ve ever had! Certainly the best pancake in London – in my humble opinion. It’s hazelnut maple praline topped with brown butter. I would go again!

I recommend booking (and so do they!).

The Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is a household name in London. With locations in Soho, Spitalfields and Notting Hill this café serves golden fluffy pancakes that evoke memories of an American breakfast. The retro vibes mixed with American diner attracts customers from all over. You’ll sure find classic blueberry American stacks with bacon and maple syrup! However, you can also get the “Big Stack”: essentially an American twist on the full English. It’s a stack of 3 pancakes with crispy bacon hash brown, sausage, cheese, caramelised onion and an egg. And if neither of them tickles your fancy, you can actually customise your pancake order with various sides, sweet and savoury.
I’ve been to several of their locations over the years (my favourite was actually the one in Clapham on a weekday – RIP!). My colleagues and I used to have breakfast meetings at the Berwick St one all the time! On Shrove Tuesday they always have special flavours and toppings for the day!

For £40 you can actually take on the pancake challenge where you’re served a stack of TWELVE pancakes topped with your choice of seasonal berries, cookies & cream or banoffee and biscoff. My Old Dutch
My Old Dutch is a classic in London! It’s been around forever and most of them survived the pandemic. My go to in High St Kensington sadly wasn’t one of them. Fortunately, you can still find a branch on Chelsea’s King’s Road as well as Holborn. My Old Dutch has an extensive menu where you can get either savoury or sweet variations of French crepes, American stacks AND Dutch poorfetjes! The restaurant serves pancakes that are hearty and satisfying. Its inviting atmosphere and creative toppings have made it a favourite among locals and visitors alike. A must-try for those who love a blend of classic and contemporary flavours.

Where the Pancakes Are
Where the Pancakes Are is literally specialised in pancakes! If you’re looking for diversity, this is the spot. American pancakes, Australian, their own different concoctions – savoury and sweet! They even have Dutch babies! (the oven-baked pancakes, not actual babies). With 3 different locations, they offer a refreshing take on pancakes with delicate textures and inventive flavour combinations that push the boundaries of the traditional dish.

Fuwa Fuwa
If you’re into those pretty, jiggly Japanese pancakes, Fuwa Fuwa is the one for you. Personally, I was really excited to try them but left underwhelmed. It’s like eating clouds and they barely touch the sides. However, they ARE very very popular! It may not be for me, but it’s certainly for many others and this list is for you, not for me.

Granger & Co
Granger & Co has earned a reputation for its light airy “pancakes” that are both satisfying and delicious. With 5 different locations around London, the restaurant features a warm ambiance and a focus on fresh ingredients. I write pancakes in quotes because it’s actually ricotta hot cakes – they’re so delicious! Topped with banana and honeycomb butter. Plus, Granger’s sleek setting makes it a perfect spot for a leisurely brunch.

Duck & Waffle is renowned for its…view. It’s open 24/7 and, located high up on Salesforce Tower, it offers a real view from the top. With only one type of pancake on the menu, you won’t need much else: at £15 you can grab yourself an indulgent skillet of chocolate chip pancake (single) with homemade hazelnut chocolate spread and chocolate crumbled on top. The experience is elevated by breathtaking views from its high-rise location in the city.
